Power outages and other delights
It was a very exciting second day of Internet radio broadcasting here on OperaMusicBroadcast.com – multiple power outages, a transformer blowing up (it makes an pretty amazing booming noise, BTW) and 2 great featured operas. Thanks to everyone who sent emails yesterday with great suggestions, ideas, and even issues – its YOUR station, so keep the comments coming!
The morning opera was David by Conti – more info can be found on the Amazon link shown, and remember all Amazon purchases help the station – Amazon donates a small amount for each purchase back to us.
We went esoteric for the evening opera – a fairly obscure German-language setting of Shakespeares’ King Lear, with Dietrich Fischer-Diskau in the title role. No Amazon link to this one, but the composer is Aribet Reimann. This was the 1978 recording with Gerd Albrecht conducting, Deutsche Gramophon.

The Friday Morning opera is Verdi’s Don Carlo, with the Pav.
